(aka, not children’s publishing, but pretty much everything else).
I’ve created cover and internal artwork for memoirs and anecdote compilation books for several different publishers. Generally illustrations for adult publishing are fewer in number per book, black and white, (often in a style similar to Chapter Books), and possibly more detailed than the style that you’d be familiar with in Children’s books. Of course, tastes and times change, so by the time you get round to reading this the market may have changed again.

Walking My Patch – By Brian Rance
30 Black and white drawings to accompany the text and literary ramblings of a man on a walk around the countryside. Great fun! If only the publisher had credited me in the title…

Hasta Manana – Adult publishing memoirs
A lovely collection of anecdotes and tales of upping and moving from the Uk to Spain, and all the troubles and incidents that happened as a result.
I can’t find a link to buy a copy, so here’s all the artwork for you to have a nose at.
An hilarious parody of the old Penguin Classics design. Taking adult publishing on a whimsical journey. Satire has never been so beautifully presented on the cover of book.
